Odeum Farms is pleased to advise that our goal to recycle all waste from our Packing facility in Canning Vale, Western Australia is currently running at 96% for all organic, paper, plastic and polystyrene type waste.
Previously Organic and General waste was sent to landfill where it produced the Greenhouse gas, Methane. Decomposing food scraps in landfill are also a potential source of organic leachates that can contaminate surface and ground water. All our Organic waste is now processed and recycled back to farm where it’s used as compost, liquid fertilisers, soil conditioner and as an assist in soil water retention.
