Over the course of last week, the adverse weather conditions in W.A affecting Perth and in the Wanneroo region have had, and may continue to have impacts on both crops and production on our snow peas and sugar snaps.
Fortunately we have found the damage to be minor however we will still lose approximately 15% to 20% of yield due to new flowers being knocked off the bush and the top stems of the bush snapping off and bending due to the excessive wind & rain. The immediate impact has resulted in firm prices which should subside within a week or two and we may experience another spike in price a few weeks down the track.
